Safeguarding Commitment
Our Safeguarding Commitment
At Olney Care Services, the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of our clients are our highest priorities. We recognize that we have a fundamental duty of care to protect the adults we support from all forms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Our Core Principles
-
Zero Tolerance: We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of abuse or mistreatment.
-
Empowerment: We support our clients to make their own choices and to live a life free from fear or harm.
-
Proactive Prevention: We focus on identifying risks early and implementing robust care plans to mitigate them.
-
Partnership: We work closely with the Milton Keynes City Council Safeguarding Adults Board, the CQC, and local healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated response to any concerns.
How We Ensure Safety
-
Rigorous Vetting: Every member of our team undergoes an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and comprehensive reference verification before entering a client’s home.
-
Specialized Training: All staff receive mandatory, ongoing training in Safeguarding Adults (Level 2 and above), ensuring they can recognize the signs of physical, emotional, financial, and institutional abuse.
-
Clear Reporting Pathways: We maintain a transparent internal reporting culture. Our staff are trained in "Whistleblowing" procedures and are empowered to report any concerns immediately to our Registered Manager or local authority safeguarding teams.
-
Regular Audits: We conduct routine quality assurance visits and client feedback sessions to monitor the standard of care and ensure our clients feel safe and respected.
