Safeguarding Commitment

Our Safeguarding Commitment

At Olney Care Services, the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of our clients are our highest priorities. We recognize that we have a fundamental duty of care to protect the adults we support from all forms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Our Core Principles

  • Zero Tolerance: We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of abuse or mistreatment.

  • Empowerment: We support our clients to make their own choices and to live a life free from fear or harm.

  • Proactive Prevention: We focus on identifying risks early and implementing robust care plans to mitigate them.

  • Partnership: We work closely with the Milton Keynes City Council Safeguarding Adults Board, the CQC, and local healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated response to any concerns.

How We Ensure Safety

  1. Rigorous Vetting: Every member of our team undergoes an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and comprehensive reference verification before entering a client’s home.

  2. Specialized Training: All staff receive mandatory, ongoing training in Safeguarding Adults (Level 2 and above), ensuring they can recognize the signs of physical, emotional, financial, and institutional abuse.

  3. Clear Reporting Pathways: We maintain a transparent internal reporting culture. Our staff are trained in "Whistleblowing" procedures and are empowered to report any concerns immediately to our Registered Manager or local authority safeguarding teams.

  4. Regular Audits: We conduct routine quality assurance visits and client feedback sessions to monitor the standard of care and ensure our clients feel safe and respected.
